Welcome to the ‘State Of Fun’ – Sentosa Island, Singapore! The place of excitement, resorts, action, adventure and, of course, expense! But does Sentosa have to cost an arm and a leg for a family to enjoy? Maybe not…
Reality is that the majority of your travel fund will go on the accommodation on Sentosa Island. There are some amazing hotels and resorts to stay at and many are now on my bucket list just from walking past. However, this trip was packed full of adventure and excitement and we were not planning on doing much else other than resting our head and having a swim at our resort. So if you are looking for something a little more budget then check out Costa Sands Resort, Sentosa.
Costa Sands Resort Sentosa Singapore
We took ourselves back to 1960s Singapore and stayed in a Kampung Hut at Costa Sands Resort. These little huts have 4 beds (2 bunks), bedding and, most importantly, air conditioning! You will be sharing a bathroom but it is no different from a campsite. You also need to BYO towels.

Tip
We packed our Turkish towels for this trip. They are light and fit perfectly into our backpacks and double as blankets while on the plane. Due to them being so light they dry really fast too.
There are no fridges in these rooms so don’t bring any perishable food with you. However, there are BBQs that you can book through the resort to cook up a feast. If you are planing on doing this I’d either have an esky with you or cook all your food on the first night!

Day 2
We ate breakfast at Coastes restaurant on the beach. They didn’t open until 9am but it didn’t bother us as the kids liked squeezing in a quick swim before breakfast.
The excitement was building over breakfast and I’m pretty sure the kids inhaled their food. Why you ask? KidZania of course!!! Our first adventure of the day was to visit KidZania and my two had been counting down the days. You can easily spend the whole day there, however, we had other places to see in our jam-packed visit to Sentosa. We left KidZania around 4pm and walked over to the Trick Eye Museum Singapore to let our imaginations run wild!
Trick Eye Singapore
Upon arrival we were shown how to download the Trick Eye Singapore App for our phones to take these illusions to a whole new level! First step was to connect to their free Wifi and then search TrickEye-SG in our App store. Once it is downloaded you simply point the camera to the 3D mural and watch it turn to 4D right before your eyes!

We had so much fun with this and the kids thought it was hilarious. You can either take a still photo or a video in the app. So much fun. As we were there over Easter we had the added bonus of using the app to hunt for the Easter Bunny hiding in each mural too. The kids found Trick Eye so much fun and it was great watching them try and work out how to get the best photos.

Sky High at Trick Eye Singapore
Across the road from Costa Sands Resort you’ll find Wave House Sentosa Restaurant and Bar. We thought we’d head there for dinner and let Matt have some fun on the Flow-Rider still wave. The fun can be had by both kids and adults, but this time the kids and I thought we’d let Daddy have the fun. Plus, it was pretty entertaining to watch!

FYI – The nachos are huge but very yummy! So was the mushroom soup enjoyed by Bailee.

With full bellies and tired feet we called it a day and headed back to our Kampung Hut to sleep. We’ve packed a lot into our trip so far but there is still so much to come!
